Brand names in everyday language I love language claiming words and evolving through everyday situations, but quite a lot of it is brand based (some phrases certainly driven by companies, but surely also just by people talking). Just not using references to corporations etc is the obvious choice here. (But where's the like to e.g. pop culture references?) It's also more accessible and precise, I know. If I needed to spread vital information, that's the way. But I also LIKE how I can place a text just by reading "hoovering" instead of "vacuuming". Or setting a scene/date immediately through companies/words typical for an era. It's fun and handy. What made me think about it: I've found "to google" funny since they made Edward say it in Twilight. But I haven't been using Google as a search engine for ages. "To search the internet" (or even "to duckduckgo") just isn't the same (and a mouthful).…
