TL;DR: I work in consulting, mostly around data science / analytics / strategy work. Long hours, lots of calls, decks, Excel, SQL, Python, travel, and now a lot of AI-assisted work also. This is the setup I actually use across office, home, and client travel. The setup : I have been working for a little over 6 years now and currently work as a data science consultant in a management consulting firm. The work is a strange mix of technical and non-technical stuff. Some days it is SQL, Python, data checks, models, dashboards. Some days it is just PowerPoint, Excel, client meetings, internal reviews, and late-night changes before a steering committee. So my setup is not really aesthetic or fancy.
