Ran a 6-month test splitting $50k evenly between macro (100k+ followers) and micro (10k-50k) influencers for our SaaS product.
**The numbers:**
| Metric | Macro | Micro |
| Total spend | $25k | $25k |
| Influencers | 8 | 42 |
| CPA | $281 | $80 |
| Conversions | 89 | 312 |
| Engagement rate | 2.1% | 6.8% |
**What surprised me:** - Micros drove 3.5x more conversions at 72% lower CPA - Their content felt more authentic - less "ad-ish" - Response time was faster (hours vs days) - One macro influencer ghosted us after payment (never again)
**The catch:** Managing 42 micros took way more work. We built a system to automate outreach and tracking, which made it scalable.
Anyone else seeing similar results? Or am I missing something with macro influencers?
