Public sector oil marketing companies’ combined losses in April-June quarter could wipe out their cumulative profits for the full 2025-26 if the global prices continue to remain high, the source said.
While fuel prices at Indian pumps have not risen in response to the global jump in energy prices due to the West Asia war, oil marketing companies are incurring losses of around Rs 20 per litre on petrol sales and Rs 100 per litre on diesel sales.
