Shohei Ohtani added a new accolade to an already overflowing list of accomplishments on Monday when he was named National League Pitcher of the Month for March/April.
It is the first time Ohtani has won a pitcher of the month award in MLB.
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ two-way star went 2-1 with a 0.60 ERA in 30 innings across five starts. He also struck out 34, finished with a 0.867 WHIP and 10.20 strikeouts per nine innings. He walked nine and hit two batters.
