If Virginia Tech can make it to the tournament finals, or win the tournament outright, it should be in a position to be one of the 16 teams hosting a regional come later this May. Virginia Tech rounded out its regular season with a trio of run-rule victories of Syracuse. The Hokies outscored the Orange 37-4 over the three-day series and in the final game of the series, held Syracuse to 2-for-9 with runners on base, 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position and 0-for-4 when operating with two outs.
