Every year, we set out a couple of Goodwill ® donation boxes in the front room and start going through closets, drawers and all the hidden corners that tend to collect things over time. It usually turns into a bit of a negotiation about what stays and what goes, and more often than not, I don’t win those debates. But I digress. While cleaning out an old backpack, I came across a copy of my résumé and a stack of business cards that I had collected over the past few years. It made me realize something. I hadn’t updated my résumé in a while, and I hadn’t followed up with many of those contacts either. That moment got me thinking.
