IC 342 - this stunning galaxy is only 7 million light years from our own Milky Way, but it’s obstructed by local dust which causes it to be “hidden” from easy observation. I reprocessed my 2025 capture of this target because I realized I had an incredible amount of long-exposure data - over 6 hours of 5-minute exposures - but I didn’t fully reveal the galaxy in my initial pass last year. Data was captured with my nexstar 8SE reduced to f/6.3, asi533mc pro, eq6-r pro, no filters, from bortle 4/5 skies submitted by /u/Tall-Beautiful-6186 [link] [comments]
