Tl;Dr: I want to use an external fx processor and a separate preamp pedal during specific parts of a song while utilizing my main amp's preamp. Hi, I used to use a Sansamp Tech 21 into the FX return of another amp to completely bypass the Peavey's preamp and instead use the Sansamp as my preamp. It was sick, but I wanted an amp with more juice. I now have an Ampeg SVT 7 Pro (with the H mod to avoid the overheating). The gainy tone from the Ampeg is sick, but at specific times, I'd like to use the Sansamp to "round out" the tone at the same time a Pod HD Pro X is used as an FX unit for chorus and reverb. I have an FPV pedal to control the Pod. The idea is that I'd turn on/off all Pod fx and it's FX loop (where the Sansamp would be plugged in) at the same time.
