Cleaner than cigarettes. Safer. And for a lot of people trying to quit smoking, it genuinely felt like a reasonable middle ground. Some still feel that way. But a major new research review just landed that I think every person who vapes, or loves someone who does, needs to hear about. The verdict, after analyzing more than 100 studies, is that vaping likely causes cancer. Lung cancer and oral cancer specifically. Not definitely, not proven beyond all doubt yet, but likely. And in medicine, when the evidence points consistently in one direction across that many different types of studies, that word “ likely ” carries serious weight.
