John Tortorella said he didn’t have to say much to Pavel Dorofeyev over the past couple of days. Turns out he didn’t need to. Dorofeyev figured it out on his own, going from benched in Game 4 to a hero with a hat trick in the Vegas Golden Knights ’ 5-4 double overtime win over the Utah Mammoth in Game 5 on Wednesday. The 25-year-old has four goals in the last two games and been instrumental to the Knights being one win away from advancing to the second round. “It feels great, obviously,” Dorofeyev said. “Found a way to help the team. Put some pucks on net and found the back of the net.” Even if it did take time to get there. It’s Dorofeyev’s second bout with playoff hockey. The first one last year was an eye-opening experience. He learned quickly that time and space are limited. The Knights could’ve used his goal scoring, but he finished with one in eight games. This year, the target is bigger with Dorofeyev scoring a career-high 37 goals in the regular season. The first three games against Utah were rough.…
