“The Punisher: One Last Kill” thrills and frustrates in equal measure. The TV special, streaming now on Disney+, seemed poised for greatness: It’s brutal, kinetic and uncompromising, a Punisher tale after our own hearts. Jon Bernthal delivers what might be his best Marvel Cinematic Universe performance to date, dragging Frank Castle to new lows and coming away with an even more robust understanding of what makes him tick. By all counts, the Punisher’s latest adventure should’ve been an all-timer.  As well-acted and action-packed as it is, though, “One Last Kill” doesn’t go anywhere. The whole thing reeks of a rehash masquerading as a turning point for its eponymous antihero, forgoing meaningful progression for trite rumination and setting the character back years. Yes, it’s every bit the feral, wild, angry, rough-around-the-edges beast it fancies itself, but it needed to be more.
