With a penalty shootout looming, Tiago Tomas scored the winning goal with a brilliant back-heel finish to send Stuttgart through to the final. They will have the chance to defend their title against recently-crowned league champions and treble chasers Bayern Munich, who beat Bayer Leverkusen in the other semi final on Wednesday.
