After going through my 3rd unemployment stint in 18 months… dont know where else to go? Tech worker here, 12 years in design. The more recent chapters of my career - left a stable stint in 2024 after riding out 4 years of start up uncertainty. This was year 10 of my career, felt both long and short at the same time. This was when AI came into the picture and made me question where the industry was heading towards. Left after the company was in a good place (founders said I was instrumental in the company’s success in my farewell email). Took a 6 months break, joined a up and coming scale up - crashed out within 10 weeks due to culture. Took me another 4 months to land a role in a start up. It was promising, the problem space and work was interesting, colleagues were great, but just 2 months into this new gig, I got the axe. They couldn’t raise enough funds to pay for my role anymore. Finances are not in a good place. I used to take pride in my financial independence, now I’m fully dependent on my spouse.…
