Adam Sandler is getting the gang back together for Grown Ups 3 . Netflix announced during its upfronts presentation Wednesday in New York City that a third movie is officially in the works for the comedy franchise that kicked off with 2010’s star-studded original Grown Ups . Kyle Newacheck is set to direct the film from a script by Sandler and longtime writing partner Tim Herlihy. Plot details and casting news have not been shared. Sandler, Herlihy, Jackie Sandler and Jack Giarraputo serve as producers, while Kevin Grady and Judit Maull executive produce. Sony released Grown Ups in theaters in June 2010 with a cast that included Sandler, Kevin James , Chris Rock , David Spade , Rob Schneider and Salma Hayek . Centering on five boyhood friends reuniting after the death of their beloved basketball coach, director Dennis Dugan ‘s film surpassed $270 million at the global box office.
