Movies, Mrs. Doubtfire director Chris Columbus joked that Robin Williams’s off-color improvisation during the filming of the 1993 comedy resulted in there being four different cuts: “literally, a PG-rated version of the film, PG-13, R, and NC-17,” he said at the time. When Williams’s co-star, Mara Wilson, was asked about the supposed NC-17 cut the following year, she was quoted as saying , “I don’t know about NC-17, but with some of the things he said, I’m sure there was probably an R [rated] cut somewhere.” However, a few years later, a viral tweet about Columbus’s earlier comments sent the internet into a frenzy.
