Regions Central Otago We asked people what they think of the government’s plan to amalgamate councils. Sam Corson, Alexandra "I wouldn’t want to merge with Queenstown council. I feel like they make poor decisions. I came from there and I’ve watched it go downhill. With small councils you may not always get what you want, but you will get heard. "It’s sad if it goes ahead. I don’t see how amalgamation will do anything besides spread money thin." Sandy Spain, Alexandra "I think they’ve all got problems of their own, and they can’t control what they’ve got at the moment.
