As a last call before I part with around £200 on a ECOWITT GW3001 'Wittboy' weather station, is there a (cheap) DIY way to get wind speed into HA?

I also want rain detection, but that's a bonus.

I suspect where we are, the wind speed on the forecast is inaccurate - we are in open ground and the wind always seems much stronger that the nearest weather station.

I don't ideally want to spend £200 to find I'm wrong and its accurrate!

Be handy to know the rainfall too, but if there's a way to check window speed cheaply, I can at least qualify the spend.
