So far we have seen/read blood magic,dragons(fire made flesh),ice magic,necromancy,shadowbinding,curses such as the leech method and fire magic(as far as I have seen). Most of them are offensive. Do protective magic exist as well. Not like barriers and such, I mean protection against curses and such. There is no real evidence but there may be gods in the world of GOT. Most magic users, faceless men and the red priest, me- me-, idk her name follow religions. So perhaps there is such system and people have asked for protection from gods longer than they have for power.
