Hey everyone,
I did this E3MOM workout (15 min total):
12 forward-facing jump-over burpees
Then 3 rounds of:
3 single DB snatches (L)
3 single DB snatches (R)
3 single DB front squats (L)
3 single DB front squats (R)
I used a 15 kg dumbbell. I could do all the reps unbroken every round, so strength didn’t feel like the issue but my breathing was absolutely the limiter.
It felt like ~90% effort the whole time.
I checked my HR after:
~37% in Zone 5
~36% in Zone 4
So basically I was redlining almost the entire workout.
What’s confusing me is:
I tried to pace it
I had ~40sec rest each round
Still felt like I never really recovered
It seems like my lungs/cardio are the bottleneck more than strength.
So my question is how do I improve this kind of workout without constantly hitting Zone 5?
