It would seem all of India invested into the Thomas Cup quarterfinals was on the edge – hoping, dreading, praying, pleading, that Ayush Shetty would defeat All England champion Lin Chun-Yi. All, except Ayush himself who went on to win 21-16, 21-17 sending India into semifinals as 3-0 winners over Chinese Taipei. “I was more nervous watching Lakshya’s (Sen) match than when playing my own,” he told BWF.
