Published 12:21 pm Friday, May 8, 2026 This spring, for the first time, the Summit boys volleyball team has a chance to add to the school’s growing list of state team titles. That’s right, a fully OSAA-sanctioned championship that can be added to the more than 100 OSAA state team titles Summit already has to its name. “It just feels more official for us,” said Summit junior setter Aiden Woods. “We are just glad that there is a little more respect now. We are here to stay.” Boys volleyball was just a club sport three years go. Then it spent two years in the “emerging sports” sports program before finally becoming a sanctioned sport by the Oregon School Activities Association this past October. While there might not be quite as many teams playing this year compared to last year, boys volleyball continues to grow ever so slightly in Central Oregon. Crook County and Central Christian again have teams this season and both have winning records.…
