A man convicted of stabbing a University of Colorado Colorado Springs professor in 2024 was handed down 224 years in state prison on Wednesday.
Ceasar Wilson, 54, was found guilty by an El Paso County jury in late February for fatally stabbing visual and performing arts instructor Haleh Abghari, 54. A jury found that Wilson sneaked into her Colorado Springs home through her garage on the night of Aug. 7, 2024, and stabbed her five times after encountering her while she was getting ready for bed.
His sentencing follows the jury’s conclusion that Wilson should face a harsher punishment as a habitual offender. He previously had been convicted of more than a dozen felonies, including armed burglaries, dating back to the ’90s.
