The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon! lead this year’s Tony nominations with 12 nods each. The original musicals, based on the 80s vampire movie and cancelled Apple TV comedy respectively, will face off against each other in the category of original musical up against Titanique and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York). Musical revival Ragtime follows with 11 nominations. After scoring her first Oscar nomination for anxiety-fuelled dark comedy If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Rose Byrne has now received her first Tony nomination in the category of best actress in a play for her role in Noel Coward comedy Fallen Angels. Her co-star Kelli O’Hara has also received a nod, making it her ninth nomination. In a five-star review , the Guardian’s Juan A Ramirez called the actors “compulsively watchable”. The pair will face off against Carrie Coon for Bug , Susannah Flood for Liberation and Lesley Manville for Oedipus. Manville previously won the Olivier for her performance in the show’s West End run.…
