(RNS) — Although not known for his piety or his deep knowledge of the Bible or matters of Christian theology, President Donald J. Trump fancies himself presiding over a religious revival, boasting that he has “ done more for religion than any other president .” Last fall, as part of his Freedom 250 commission, he launched the America Prays initiative to encourage Americans to dedicate an hour a week in prayer.
