The $50-million privately funded Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music opens June 13 at Monmouth University, Long Branch, N.J. Housing the musician’s archives, the 32,000-sq-ft facility that was designed by COOKFOX Architects includes exhibition galleries, research archives, immersive interactive experiences and a performance theater.
The building features a weathering steel facade that references New Jersey’s industrial legacy, says the design firm, and its sustainably harvested European glue-laminated and cross-laminated timber “creates authentic and welcoming interiors.”
Torcon is project contractor and DeSImone Consulting Engineering is structural engineer and facade consultant.
