The tragedy occurred early on Friday when a concrete slab of the bridge over the Betwa River gave way, following a severe windstorm .(PTI photo) A day after six labourers were killed in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur district when a concrete slab from an under-construction bridge over the Betwa river collapsed on them, police on Saturday registered an FIR against the private construction firm engaged in the project, its owner, and a supervisor. The FIR has been filed against the Kanpur-based construction agency, M/S The Sheter, its owner Vijay Pratap Singh and supervisor Nitish Sachan, on a complaint filed by Dileep Kumar, deputy project manager of the UP State Bridge Corporation Limited which had contracted the project to the firm. Charges of causing death by negligence and acts endangering life or personal safety of others have been invoked against them.…
