Hayden Dunham, known professionally as Hyd, is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist, and their latest solo exhibit, an installation called Never Is Over , opens tomorrow at New York's Company Gallery. Hyd also makes music, and they're not too high-minded to sing about how this girl is a freak. Hyd used to be part of the PC Music universe, and they co-created the conceptual project QT. Next month, Hyd will release the new album Hold Onto Me Infinity , a new album that's partly inspired by the loss of her partner SOPHIE. "Freak," which follows lead single " Angel ," is a dizzy and warped avant-pop track about the instant rush of attraction, and it gains emotional heft when you realize that Hyd is probably singing about SOPHIE. In the Kelly McCormack-directed "Freak" video, Hyd wears a monocle like it's an eyepatch. Lots of other stuff happens, but that's what impressed me the post.…
