The White Gravel Mines began as a vital white quartz gravel source owned by the Warren family and is located in Minford, Ohio. It was founded in the early 20th century. The workers  used dynamite and muscle to make a living by supplying the gravel and sand to the growing residential and industrial needs of the region.  The gravel was then sold to the General Refractories Company. The workers worked the mines throughout World War II after which time it was abandoned and faded into memory. The Warrens sealed up the mines in the 1970s, but trespassing and vandalism became a regular occurence. But the mines found a new purpose in 2009. It was transformed from a historical site into a stage for storytelling and spiritual reflection, starting with "The Cavern of Choices" in 2011. This show was inspired by C.S. Lewis's "The Screwtape Letters”. "The Christmas Cave” was introduced in 2016, quickly becoming a popular event.…
