So they don't taste like canned sardines? Now, I'm not talking about fresh sardines, which, if you haven't had them, are magical. No, I mean canned sardines, vertebrae and bones and all, the incredibly healthy and relatively cheap canned fish. I just don't know any majorly different thing you can do with them.
I do make a canned salmon croquette with mashed potatoes as part of the base and I was thinking of just tossing in a can of sardines. But I have no other ideas. Creamed sardines, perhaps? Sardine bisque? Hollandaise? In a cocktail with Creme de Menthe? So curious for ideas.
