I had my very first backpacking trip scheduled to the Emigrant Wilderness, for the first weekend of June (1 week from now). Unfortunately it snowed yesterday/today, so we are probably not going to be able to make it. I'm looking for alternatives. We are 4 adults and a dog. I liked the idea of the Sierras because there are no ticks there. But now that we are looking for other places, that's my main concern. I'm super scared of ticks. I know you can take preventive actions, but to be honest, I don't want to be all the time thinking about it (not fun). Any recommendations or ideas?
