Published 9:43 am Friday, May 1, 2026 Wells Acres Road will close at Butler Market Road beginning Monday, May 11 as construction continues on a roundabout and key route improvement project. The closure is expected to last until mid-August. During that time, Purcell Boulevard will serve as the designated detour route, while Butler Market Road will remain open to eastbound traffic only. Crews will focus on building a single-lane roundabout at the intersection, part of an effort to improve safety and traffic flow for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. The project also includes sewer system improvements and upgrades aimed at creating a safer, more accessible bike and pedestrian corridor. Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted detours and allow extra time. More information and construction updates are available on the city’s website.
