I tried DaVinci Resolve's new photo editor, and it's not what I expected

DaVinci Resolve has been in my video editing rotation for years now, and it's long been my top pick over Premiere since canceling my Adobe subscriptions. So when Resolve 21 dropped a public beta with a whole new Photo page , I was naturally curious and excited to try it. Most of the coverage I saw thus far is from photographers and people who shoot in RAW , which makes sense, because the headline pitch is Hollywood-grade color grading applied to RAW files.
