Please help me replace my PSU I may have gotten scammed by someone i paid to put my pc together 2 years ago and only just realizing it now. (Had a pirated windows installed instead of the dvd they had me buy at microcenter for instance). They had me pay for the PSU off amazon and its the only part i did not see in person. Apparently the first one they got was dead so they replaced it with a new one of the same kind? I was watching youtube today and my pc suddenly turned off. I tried turning it back on but it wouldnt boot up. It did have some power because my phone was still charging while it was connected via USB. Then i hear a really loud pop at the back and smell burning plastic so I unplugged it. If i try plugging it in again and try turning it on the smell starts coming back and the PC makes this loud hissing noise like a teapot kettle going off once its ready. How can I prevent this in the future? What could have caused this and is my psu the only thing that could need replacing?…
