This self-initiated project started with a simple curiosity: what happens when something traditionally soft, ornamental, and fragile like lace is rebuilt from paper? By cutting, layering, and repeating shapes, I explored symmetry as a form of calm. The process became almost meditative. Each cut mirrored another, each decision asking for balance rather than perfection. Using bold color combinations, transparency, and shifting opacity, I wanted the work to feel graphic and contemporary while still carrying the quiet rhythm of lace. Paper allowed me to play with contrast. Hard edges creating softness. Structure creating delicacy. I mixed in photography to break the symmetry just enough, letting small disruptions breathe life into the pattern. For me, these pieces sit somewhere between control and intuition.
