Jailed Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi was ⁠in critical condition in a cardiac care unit in northwestern Iran on Sunday, two days after she was brought to the hospital from prison, a foundation run ​by her family said. Mohammadi's blood pressure has ‌continued to ‌fluctuate dangerously, and treatment has been ​limited to efforts to stabilize her condition through oxygen therapy, the Narges Mohammadi Foundation said in ⁠a statement. She was transferred from prison to hospital in ⁠the northwestern city of Zanjan on Friday following a "catastrophic deterioration" of her health, which ​the foundation said included two ⁠episodes of complete loss of consciousness and a severe cardiac crisis. Mohammadi, ⁠who is in ​her 50s, won the Nobel ​Peace Prize while in prison for a campaign ​to ‌advance women's rights and abolish the death penalty in Iran.
