Let me preface with, yes. I know there is a substantial difference in size, blade length, sweet spot, and offset with something like an old blade, and say, a Ping G440. I’m not saying the head isn’t a factor. But for people that are always contemplating something like, should I get a game improvement iron or “players distance” like P790, the difference is really minimal. A well caught strike is a well caught strike. However, compare something like a stock KBS MT 85 regular flex, compared to a Project X Rifle 6.0. Or something like Dynamic Gold 95, compared to a X100. Or, compare a standard steel shaft compared to graphite in the same weight. Or better yet, what about a light graphite shaft like 65 grams? Applies to drivers too. Yeah, some drivers are meant for lower spin. Some have a draw bias to aid with borderline slices. But more or less, all modern drivers have reached the limits of what is legally possible.
