Flew across the pond for this and it was beyond worth it. It's an experience I'll cherish for the rest of my life. Having the power and beauty of the whole Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra playing along with the movie just took it to another level. The symphonic choir was incredible, as was the angelic-sounding Trinity Boys' Choir.
I typically tend to hold back tears during certain scenes, but this time the combination of jetlag and happiness had me bawling at, "My brother, my captain, my king". I had the momentary thought of, just let go and shed the tears. As I did so, heard loud sniffles and sobs all around me. Guess I wasn't the only one.
I'm so appreciative that 25 years later, there's still so much love for Howard Shore's score.
