The Locarno Film Festival will honor Isabella Rossellini with its Excellence Award that pays tribute to film personalities who are making their mark on contemporary cinema. Rossellini — whose most recent credits include Alice Rohrwacher’s “La Chimera” (2023) and Edward Berger’s “Conclave” (2024), for which she scored an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress — will receive the prize on the opening night of the Swiss festival on Aug. 5 in its Piazza Grande venue. “Born of cinema royalty, Rossellini has left her distinct mark on film history, forging a career featuring collaborations with filmmakers like Robert Zemeckis, David O.
