Just a bit of "my own thoughts posting", I'm really glad I started my own archiving efforts already and it has paid off multiple times by now. Recently an image board site has slowly but surely been going down over the course of 2 months without the owner doing anything to fix it. First one of their alternative domains was suddenly gone, no news or anything whatsoever. Just recently about a week ago their main, high quality image delivery server consisting of 3 different nodes also went down, so the only thing they're able to show are just low quality thumbnails. Right around 2 weeks ago I made my last gallery-dl archiving round, shortly before those servers were gone. On another note, I also started archiving my liked and faved YT videos simply for being fed up with some being taken down. Not knowing what a video was despite it sitting right there with no thumbnail or title in your favorite list is sad... especially when it's a decade old.…
