While Qualcomm’s more known for its high-profile chips like the 8 Gen series processors, the company caters to pretty much all smartphone budget tiers, all the way down to more affordable devices. That in mind, Qualcomm recently unveiled the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 , which according to the company are designed to bring more capable AI and gaming features to entry-level devices. One key highlight that’s featured in both chipsets is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Smooth Motion UI, which is designed to drastically reduce navigation lag. As a result, tests show that the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 manages a 20% improvement in app launch speeds and an 18% reduction in screen stutter versus to its predecessor, while the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 comes with 43% faster app launches and a 25% reduction in stuttering. A 4nm chipset, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 features Qualcomm’s Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 for sustained gaming sessions with a 21% boost in GPU performance, at least on paper.…
