The San Diego Padres' starting rotation has been decimated by injuries early in 2026. The most recent injury involves veteran right-hander Germán Márquez, who was placed on the injured list with forearm nerve inflammation on Sunday. Márquez came to the Padres this offseason after spending the first 10 years of his career as a member of the Colorado Rockies. His numbers have been very up and down over the years, but Márquez was hopeful that the Padres could help him turn it around — and the Padres were hopeful getting him out of Coors Field would be the difference.
