Halo Infinite gets surprise Gauntlet PvE mode six months after the last planned content update

Image credit: Xbox Game Studios Halo Infinite 's road has been full of ups and downs, but in the end, enough players stuck around to warrant four years of active post-launch development . No more content updates were set to arrive after November 2025, yet the latest multiplayer Halo has just received a new patch which adds a PvE mode. Firefight: Gauntlet is described as a "deviously difficult PvE mode" designed with the toughest Spartans in mind. Its basic features include "upgradeable attributes, elimination objectives, and auto-scaled difficulty settings to a boss-filled Firefight experience". It's also round-based, and it seems the only way to halt reinforcements is to slay the boss in each arena.
