LATAM Airlines Group SA posted quarterly earnings that exceeded expectations, but updated their full-year guidance to reflect higher jet fuel prices as Latin America’s largest carrier by market value starts to see the impact of rising costs.

The estimated impact of higher fuel costs in the first quarter is approximately $40 million, while the company expects additional fuel expenses of more than $700 million next quarter.
