A Democratic Texas treasurer told a police officer she thought she was “in heaven” before she was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated. Dr. Carla Wyatt, the first African American elected as Harris County’s treasurer, was busted when an officer found her asleep at the wheel in her blue Toyota SUV parked in the left lane of a Texas City highway just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, the Houston Chronicle reported. The cop turned off Wyatt’s car engine before trying to wake Wyatt, 56, from her slumber.  Carla Wyatt, the Harris County, Texas, Treasurer, was booked on a DWI charge Saturday. Galveston County Jail The officer “woke up the female and asked where she was at and advised she was in heaven,” according to court documents seen by KTRK . Wyatt, the financial watchdog for Texas’ most populous county, was asked about her location, to which she replied Houston – even though she was in Texas City – around 42 miles away.…
