(AP Photo) As Israeli and Lebanese military officials began direct talks in the United States on Friday, Israeli troops intensified their operations in parts of southern Lebanon, killing at least six people, the Associated Press reported. Israel launched airstrikes as its soldiers entered the village of Dibbine, near Marjayoun town. Five people were killed in the villages of Deir Qanoun al Nahr and Abbasiyeh, while a municipal policeman was killed in Ebba, AP reported citing state media. At the Pentagon, meanwhile, a six-member Lebanese military delegation met with Israeli military officials in the first direct military talks between the two countries in decades, the report highlighted.
