And being a first child didn’t make it any easier coupled with having cousins and relatives who stayed with us. Everyone had their opinions about me, instructions came at different times from most of them because they were all older than me. So I find myself trying to please them because whenever they complain about anything I try to adjust to fit into the idea of a good child they often preach about but the more I try, the more I get caught up in a well of confusion. I was slowly losing myself and being that I haven’t had any good conversation about Identity or even been told to discover it, I became frustrated and sometimes the only thing I could do was write. My book became my friend and my pen my safe haven. My parents, especially my Dad, took up the role of a saviour.…
