I'm looking for motherboard recommendations for a new server. My current server has been great, but it's big and loud. Plus, I'd like to scale down. My current unraid server is run on the following equipment.
- Supermicro X10DRH-CLN4 motherboard
- 2x Xeon E5-2670 v3 CPUs (24 cores/48 threads)
- 4u, 24-bay SuperMicro CSE-846 chassis.
I'll probably be buying from Amazon. I'm going to be limited to M-ATX motherboards, due to the case. And the motherboard will need to have a LGA 1700 socket if I want to reuse my RAM.
- Already own an AUDHEID 8-Bay NAS case.
- Already have DDR4 RAM that I'd like to reuse.
- I'm considering 14th Gen Intel desktop processors, like a Core i5-14400 or i5-14500. That will limit me to the LGA 1700 socket.
I'm going to miss having I'll need to add a SuperMicro's IPMI. But I can't afford a several hundred dollar motherboard. I'm thinking between $100 - $200, obviously the lower the better. Any advice or recommendations are appreciated!
