John Tortorella felt the tide shifting in the special teams battle the days after the Vegas Golden Knights lost Game 3. Not that the Utah Mammoth were dominating in that area, but the Knights weren’t capitalizing — especially on the power play. The man advantage is still in need of dire work. The penalty kill — led by Brett Howden — has picked up the slack. The Knights’ PK went 5-for-5 on Wednesday in Game 5 of their first round series, capped off by Howden’s shorthanded goal 5:28 into the second overtime for the 5-4 win and the 3-2 series lead over the Mammoth. “I think on the PK, we did a really good job tonight limiting their chances and pressuring them when we needed to,” Howden said.
