My son just beat Ocarina of Time today, his first Zelda game. When Navi flew away he burst into tears “No, come back! No!” it was so sweet that I teared up a bit too while I was hugging him trying to console him. I told him that Navi was going back to live in the Kokiri forest again and so Link can still go visit Navi whenever he wants to. Growing up I actually found Navi rather annoying lol so I wasn’t prepared at all for such an emotional reaction to Navi leaving. I asked and my son said he never found Navi annoying.
